
Hypothetically speaking they could've sold the "remaster" for $10 (ex. You're acting as if the game itself deserves to be included in that price, which it doesn't considering it was made 10 years ago and Nintendo already got their profits from it back then (on two platforms).

But let's not pretend like Sony or Microsoft wouldn't have gotten a huge backlash had they tried the same, and let's not pretend like a mere texture update and some changes in the amount of quest items you need to collect justify that $50 price tag. Sony and Microsoft give respectively 3x and 5x more content for the same price as Nintendo does with their remasters, but because the big N knows WiiU gamers are in a draught of games and will buy anything thrown at them, they don't feel obliged to put any effort into it.
